ENGLAND thrash INDIA

ENGLAND THRASH SORRY INDIA

England showed India that the last Test Match wasn`t a fluke and that they can adapt to warm Sub Continent Conditions as the last 2 Tests have shown.  England showed the Hosts who has the better temperament and who has the better All-round Cricket ability. Whether it`s catching, fielding, batting, Bowling or Captaincy. England with Alistair Cook and Andy Flower at the helm have carried on the good work the predecessor Andrew Strauss did.

As England came into this Match on the back of a great victory in Mumbai, this was going to test them more as the pitch wasn`t going to take just Spin as Mumbai had. So England with one change from the side that beat India in the 2nd Test replacing Johnny Bairstow was Warwickshire batsman Ian Bell.
Though his record in the Sub Contintent wasn`t great the selectors picked him ahead of Bairstow

India won the Toss and chose to Bat, hoping to get a good total and push 450 plus in their 1st innings after their nightmare Collapse in the last test. Gambhir and Sehweg were starting off well reaching 47-0 when Sami Patel persisant in the field stopped the ball hitting the Boundary, Finn picked it up launched it at the Strikers end to which Sehwag was stuck half way down and Prior whipped the bails off for a Run-out .

Purjara was next to fall for the Indians as Monty Panasar started his Wicket collection again, as he bowled him with ball turning back into him and he missed his shot and Led Monty to do a little dance in celebration as India were 2 down for 88 and the man they struggled to get out last was out cheaply for 16.
His next victim was that of Gambhir as his fast straight ball was edged to slip and right into the hands of Jonathan Trott as he was Dismissed for 60 after a very good innings for the Home side.

Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar put on a good partnership before Swann got Singh out for 32 with Captain Cook taking the Catch in the field as India were 215 -5 and looking  abit shaky. Worst for India was the Little master who was having a good innings for the Hosts and had the Crowd praying for a big score was then Out. As James Anderson beauty delivery was edged and taken behind by Prior for 76 runs.
Next to fall was Ravichandran Ashwin, Bowled by James Anderson hitting middle and off Stump with a great delivery off the Lancashire fast bowler as he departed for 21.

On Day 2,  Zaheer Khan became Monty 3rd Wicket of the Innings as he Got him out for 6 trapped LBW. Then with India trying to hit themselves out of trouble, Panasar got on to bounce low and Sharma  couldn`t pick it and was therefore clean bowled by the England Spinner. MS Dhoni batted a brave innings hitting 52 as he tried to keep the score ticking along and give India as much of a Lead to try and defend against Englands 1st innings as possible. But Finn got his wicket with Trott taking the catch to Dismiss India out for 316 ALL OUT

England came out to bat for the first time in the game as Captain Cook and Compton came to the crease, hoping to get a good score on the board. Compton reached his Maiden Half century as England hit 140 Without Loss in their innings. Not long after Cook wrote his name in the Record books as he Sweeped a shot to the boundary and became Englands Top Century maker with 23 Hundreds passing Wally Hammond who held the record from 1922 was now broke by Alistair Cook.

Compton then was given the dreaded Finger as after a mixed signal by Rod Tucker the Umpire shaking his head then giving him out. It was a plum Lbw as an intended sweep by the Somerset Opener missed and him inline with the stumps and had to be given out.  As he was out for 57 bowled by Ojha as England were 165 for 1.

DAY 3 was another one for the England side as they powered on pass the Indians score during the day,
But lost Trott to an edge in the slips off Ojha bowling and caught well by Ms Dhoni with the gloves, as he made 87. Then came one of the most Bizarre Wickets you`ll see, Cook was running and when Kohli picked the ball up  launched it in frustration as the stumps hitting them but Cook had lifted his bat up to avoid to being harmed. And after checking with the 4th Umpire Cook was Massively disappointed by his dismissal and was out agonisingly at 190.

Kevin Pietersen and Ian Bell tried to stead the mini collapse till Bell was behind off the bowling of Ishant and Dhoni took his 2nd catch of the match as he went for 5 runs on his return. Sami Patel decided to being abit more aggressive to the Indian bowlers and was knocking 4 and running well between the wickets with Pietersen. Sadly Pietersen was outdone by spin again and departed for  54 off a nice little innings.
Patel went soon as Sehwag got him off Ojha bowling for 44. Matt Prior & Graeme Swann batted the day out.

DAY 4 England carried on where they left off , But India had a moment of joy as they got Both Swann and Prior Out for  21 and 41 Respectively.  Anderson tried to play some shots and was out for 9 off Ashwin bowling and sehwag catching. and the innings was brought to a close by Ashwin as he got Monty Panasar 1st ball. With England innings finishing on a Mighty 523 ALL OUT!

India were trying to bat the game out as the Win was long gone but a draw was their best hope, but ideas of that started to go when after an encouraging start Swann Bowled Sehwag 1st ball after Lunch. And Purjar was run out by a Fantastic Direct hit by Ian Bell as he made just 8 and the silence was getting eerie around the ground from the Indian fans.

Gambhir then went as his shot went into the gloves of Prior and was out for 40. Many times over the year, Sachin Tendulkar has been the man to come to the crease and bailed India out when they needed him badly, but even the Little Master couldn`t compose a way out as Swann took his wicket as Trott caught him at slip as India was in trouble again as the score was 107-4 . James Anderson then knocked Singh Off Stump out flying as he headed off for 11 runs and India were really in TROUBLE!

MS Dhoni came to the crease needing to play a Captains innings to save his team and carry the Nations hope on his shoulders. But he lasted just 3 balls as England Skipper took the catch caught behind off Anderson and England smelt Victory in their nostrils and Indian Blood as well.

Ashwin provided some resistant to the England Bowling attack, but didn`t find any support at all from his team. As India capitulated as Kohli helped his shot to Prior and India were 155- 7, Zaheer Khan got a Golden duck as he scored 0 again and Victory was insight now for the Tourists.
Panasar got Sharma out same way like 1st inning , delivery kept low as he swung the bat and it bowled him.

DAY 5, England didn`t need long to take the final wicket of the Sorry Indian innings as Anderson rounded it off Bowling Ohja for 3 and meant England required 41 RUNS TO WIN.

But it didn`t all go smoothly for them, as Cook was Stumped for 1, Trott was given out for LBW for 3 and Pietersen followed a couple balls later as England were 8 for 3 Wickets.
But Ian Bell got his head down along with Nick Compton, As they knocked them quickly off, to win the game and Take a 2-1 Series lead going into the 4th Test this week.
