Polar bears again Claw victory over Mannheim

Just a week after the last battle in Berlin between the 2 German Powerhouse teams, they mixed it up again  Tuesday night at the O2 World Arena in Berlin. As the League leaders came to the home of the Reigning Champions the Eisbaren Bears and both side had early chances to score but the Netminders for both teams looked to be on their metal.


Berlin came the closest when Florian Bush got hooked and as he landed on the ice still managed to make something of the play as he stick handled the puck while on the ice and tried to sweep it in past the Mannheim netminder.  Eisbaren netminder made a good stop from a One-Timer by the Mannheim forward as he quickly covered his near post to collect the Slapshot in his glove.

The referee then sent Frank Wall to the Penalty box for HOLDING and 23 seconds into the Powerplay the League Champions opened the scoring at 13mins, with Andre Rankel scoring as he turned home a loose rebound from a Danny Briere shot on the left side that wasn`t cleared by the Defense and Rankel was quick to pounce on it, like a Bear fishing for Salmon.

2nd period Eisbaren Berlin carried on the pressure on the Mannheim goals and threaten with the Mannheim Netminder Bruckmann keeping the puck out and looking good in nets. Berlin had attack after attack and he keep stopping everything they thrown at him. And they visitors had him to thanks to be keeping them still in the game at 1-0 down. But Berlin Defensive work was limiting the chance for the League leaders and the chance they did get came from momentary blips of Concentration and lucky for the Bears Rob Zepp was in good form between the pipes.


3rd period the visitors got on the board as they were on the Powerplay as Steven Wagner quickly threw one on net that beat Zepp in the Bears nets and gave Mannheim a goal to tie the game at 1-1, after 43 mins.  
It was still a  fast paced game with both defenses on top, then Berlin or mainly Olver changed the game in 2 mins, as Bush picked up a loose puck after a Bears forward made a play checking a Eagles play in the boards.to which he picked it up, passed it to a unmarked Olver and took his time to pick his target and Wristed it hit past Bruckmann for a 2-1 lead.

A minute later, as a Mannheim defensemen were trying to clear the Neutral zone, Olver stuck his stick out to block the puck. Managed to pinch it off the Mannheim player and skated into their zone and waited and waited on what to do ,control it looked up and saw the Barry Tallackson skating in back post, So he feed him the puck and had the easy task of just putting it in a half empty goal for a 3-1 Scoreline and one that Eisbaren never looked back from after that and gave them the 2pts for victory and claw their way back in remain the hunt of the German Bundesliga Title trailing only by 6pts now.
